The company was created in 1983 by Joël Lemaitre, a nursery horticulturist in Carquefou, at a place called La Favrière. Production takes place on approximately 3 hectares of an elegant range which includes Camellias, Japanese Azaleas and Mollis, Rhododendron, Daphne, Magnolia, and Hydrangea.
Within each plant genus, a wide range of varieties is available. Production is entirely artisanal: the raw materials are produced on the production site. Production work is carried out manually.

By hearing about the world of plant production, and the world of business, I decided, at a very young age, to create my own business. My goal was, and still is, to have a business where I can progress, flourish, and also produce plants that will give the greatest satisfaction in the gardens.
We needed, and we need, to know our varieties. This does not stop at knowing their name, but at observing them in crops to identify their foliage, their reactions to different situations, and their ways of developing. All this can only be done over time by practicing every day. These are the results of experiments and observations, which are recorded on computer and which constitute our skills.
We had to develop our own method of production with the means at our disposal. We grow our plants in a natural mixture based on garden soil. Over time, the techniques for preparing the mixture have evolved. From the excavator to the handling machine, including the tiller, a whole evolution.
Crop monitoring evolves over time depending on the parameters around us: we gain new experience from day to day.>>
Production techniques and mode of distribution
Production techniques, watering, pruning, fertilization, care, have also evolved. This while maintaining the objective of “sustainable development”, what I simply call respecting the basics of agronomy: fertilizer, watering when necessary with environmentally friendly products. It's a question of balance.
Our method of distribution has also evolved. If initially, we distributed to plant professionals, then to specialized distribution, today, we mainly distribute our production to individuals on our production site and to our dealers.
This distribution to the public is an opportunity for us to have the pleasure of sharing our experience, our easy-to-understand tips and to introduce our varieties. This is also where our skills and experience are recognized.
We have developed various documents in order to simply share our knowledge, our experiences, to inspire, to transmit this passion for plants, and more particularly “elegant” ones.
We remain available to provide advice, tips, and help you discover our “elegant” products on our production site.

All these plants are multiplied here, then cultivated in a mixture of natural soil for several years on the farm, before being intended for sale.

In 1999, the company won the environment trophy, agriculture category from the town of Carquefou. She was later decorated with the National Order of Rosemary.
